What to Look for When Buying a Zero-Turn Mower

  • Durability; overall sturdiness of the frame and deck construction

  • Deck Construction; for homeowners, stamped decks will be more adequate. But for properties with rough terrain, they may be less durable than the welded decks found on most professional mowers

  • Engine Design; twin-cylinder OHV engines are more powerful and run smoother

  • Easy-to-Adjust Cutting Height; should be easy and fast. Avoid mowers that require you to get off and manually adjust the deck height

  • Wider Tires; will distribute the machine’s weight over a large area, easier on grass, improved traction

  • Comfort; back support is important

  • User Friendly; adjust your mowing speed to match your level of comfort and control

  • Price; the higher the price, the more equipped the machine will probably be
